Remaddening by Allison James

madnessMADNESSmadness 2. Go through three levels of tiered difficulty, play through a specialist level where you can't turn back, or even endure a procedurally generated level, completely randomly made and unlooped for constantly different obstacles. And if you're bored of its looks, why not recolour it to suit your visual needs?

SohoPogoHo by Allison James

0960_0200_ItchioHeader.png

SohoPogoHo, my creation for the Game Jolt jam, is a game in which you play as a pogo stick-wielding prostitute bringing her unique services to the world.

The game is primarily mouse-controlled, with the cursor deciding the direction in which she pogos, and the left and right mouse buttons controlling the bounce intensity. Get to the man at the end of each level to finish it.

The game is fairly difficult, but can be taken both slowly or quickly (slowly's advisable to start with).

Includes two trophies, for completing all ten rooms and for earning $50,000.

Innoquous 3 by Allison James

0960_0200_ItchioHeader.png

Innoquous 3 is a platform game in which you can use arrows scattered around levels to manipulate in which direction gravity is pointing. The game uses a smooth mechanic to rotate the view accordingly, making the game seem fluent.

There are 30 brand-new levels in the game, which can be played in one of three game modes - Standard (normal), Conditional (a certain objective must be completed for the level to be passed), and Fiery Floors (where some of the ground has been lethalised, increasing the difficulty). Once unlocked, levels can be returned to as many times as you like thanks to an easy to use level select mechanism.

On top of those, there are two speedrun modes. INQS 30 is a speedrun of all 30 of Innoquous 3's levels. INQS 60 is a speedrun of all three Innoquous games in one go. Fastest times are recorded for you when you save your progress, as well as numerous other statistics, some useful, others less so.

There are also ten trophies to collect for meeting certain game objectives, such as the 100% Completion award. These are displayed on a page in the menu.

The menu itself is designed to be easy to use and as little hassle as possible. Use left or right to switch between items, and click/hover over buttons to interact with them.

Innoquous 2 by Allison James

0960_0200_ItchioHeader.png

Big gravity-switching platformer action. Once again, hit an arrow and your gravity will be redirected. However, this time, there are hazards that will directly kill you instead of just falling off the level. So Innoquous 2 isn’t very innocuous any more. Maybe this one should have been Noquous…

Features new music by two excellent artists (and no latino any more) and 18 levels, none recycled from Innoquous!

Puzzle Valley by Allison James

0960_0200_ItchioHeader.png

This is a long, brain teasing game featuring 26 levels. Each level starts with a platforming section then ends with a riddle you will need to solve to continue. To solve them, you’ll need your brain and probably Google by your side.

The game also features a storyline with some fairly crudely done cutscenes, along with a map of Puzzle Valley and the surrounding island.

Cutting Run by Allison James

0960_0200_ItchioHeader.png

Cutting Run! uses an original control method to make its jump/duck/shoot action more interesting. To jump, you have to move your mouse up. To duck, you move it down. To shoot, you move it right. There is one level, in which you must dodge crates for as long as possible. Some cannot be dodged and must be shot through. Your final score is the number of seconds you survived between the game start and losing three lives.

Gamanstake by Allison James

0960_0200_ItchioHeader.png

Gamanstake is a very long maze / exploration / adventure game made in 2006. Until Elemence later on, this was my “prized” game. You play as a dude called Gea Mastert (an anagram of “Age Matters”, don’t know why) who has been trapped in an evil set of killer mazes called The Gamanstake Mazes. He must go through trying to find the source of evil.

If you persevere the boringness of the gameplay it does actually contain a fair bit of variety. An aeroplane stage, a racing stage, a mix of maze and platforming levels, a few different areas and a storyline bulk it out a lot. This was my longest game in terms of unique gameplay for quite a while!
